Last Friday my friend Diana and I ventured out of Amsterdam on a little road trip to Breda in south Holland. As with any road trip we learned a great many things: 1) my map-reading skills aren’t what they use to be, 2) how much us city slickers rely on there being an ATM on every corner after scrounging loose change for one poultry glass of vino, 3) a Dutch childhood tradition – hot chips with apple sauce (surprisingly good), 4) that I will now be trawling vintage stores for teacups to knock-off this lampshade idea, and finally, 5) just how good a road trip is.
So, I implore you - get in your car, hop on a bike or train, whatever it takes, and get out and see something new this weekend!
